Theodore Charles Siebert, Jr.

SAVANNAH – Theodore Charles Siebert, Jr., 92, is now at eternal rest in the Lord. He died at St. Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
Born in Charleston, SC to Theodore Charles Siebert, Sr. and Carolyn Sires, Charlie lived most of his life in Savannah. He and his deceased wife, Wilma, married in 1947. After living in Savannah for several years they moved to Fernandina Beach, Ocala, and Gainesville, FL, as Charlie held many positions with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. They retired in Savannah in the 1970's.
Charlie served in the Air Force-Air Transport Command for three years during World War II. As a faithful member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charlie was a youth advisor, served on the Church Council, was a member of Men in Mission, and regularly volunteered in the church office. In addition, he was a member of the German Friendly Society and served as Treasurer for several years. Charlie was known for his sense of humor and foolishness. He enjoyed his family and friends.

Charlie is survived by a brother Hershel Siebert wife Margaret, a sister-in-law Laura Siebert, and several nieces and nephews: Frederick C. Siebert Donna, Paul Siebert Cherrie, Jeannie Siebert Lanier Dennis, Hershel Siebert, Jr. HuiNa, Laura Siebert Johnson Jimmy, Carolyn Siebert Clarke, and many great nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by a niece, Katherine Wellbrock Tillman Joe and their daughters Julia Tillman Breton and Lisa A. Tillman.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with the Rev. Peter J. Hartman officiating.
